We are a small software house based in the Alver Valley, in Hampshire, UK. We write software for Windows using the .NET Framework, for Mac OS X, and for Linux.
Our product 'AVS Barcode Source' is Windows barcode software which create high-quality barcode images for use on your products.
It has been used to create hundreds of barcodes which are used on products worldwide, ranging from books to greetings cards, from bottles of beer to cases of wine, from shoes to packets of biscuits. We can't name some names, but there may be one of our barcodes in the room where you are sitting now! As for the names we are allowed to mention, you can see some of our customer feedback and testimonials here.
Tom Reader, principle developer at Alver Valley Software Limited, has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, is a Member of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers (member number 22684), and has been developing software professionally since 1990.

I would like to thank Successful Software (http://successfulsoftware.net/) for their superb website - I highly recommend it as a resource for any small software house.
As long-time enthusiastic supporters of distributed computing, Alver Valley Software Limited is very proud to be a partner of the World Community Grid. We strongly believe in the ability of sheer computing horsepower - coupled with the great scientific minds running these projects - to make a real difference to future generations.
As such, we make all of our computers available to the World Community Grid. Since some of them are up and running 24x365, this means we are currently generating around 14 days processor time every 24 hours. We are interested in medical research projects, and currently dedicate all our output to the Help Fight Childhood Cancer project, although we have also contributed to numerous other WCG projects.
We strongly encourage anyone - including our customers! - to get involved in the World Community Grid. Every computer participating can make a valuable contribution, without affecting day-to-day use of the computer in any way.
More details about the World Community Grid, as well as our contribution statistics, can be seen below.
